In their own words
General Secretary at World Communion of Reformed Churches | Theologian | Mentor
Rev. Philip Vinod Peacock is a pioneering Dalit Christian leader, theologian, and a historic figure in global faith leadership. With over 28 years of experience bridging theology and social justice, he recently shattered a monumental glass ceiling by becoming the first Asian and Dalit to be unanimously elected as the General Secretary of the World Communion of Reformed Churches (WCRC). In this groundbreaking role, he leads a communion representing over 100 million Christians across 108 countries.
A lifelong advocate for justice, unity, and global witness, Philip’s journey embodies the spirit of Educate, Agitate, Organize. Before stepping into global executive leadership in Hannover, Germany, he dedicated 17 years to shaping the next generation of thinkers as an Associate Professor at Bishop's College. His academic foundation includes a Master of Theology from Tamil Nadu Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Divinity from Gurukul Lutheran Theological College.
As a proud Dalit Christian leading a global Christian communion, Philip brings a profoundly intersectional perspective on faith, systemic resistance, and institutional leadership. He is deeply committed to giving back to his roots and empowering the next generation of Dalit scholars, leaders, and advocates through Unify the Lit.
