Budhha
Buddha opposed birth-based caste hierarchy and certain Brahmanical rituals, teaching that a person’s actions—not birth—mattered. According to the local account, a Buddha statue’s head was removed and replaced with a Vinayagar (Ganesha) head, after which it was worshipped as Vinayagar. Today, Vinayagar Chaturthi is celebrated there, and religious identity has sometimes become a source of conflict.
