Jatin Avinash Salve

Jatin Salve is an AI researcher, engineer, and open-source mentor pursuing his Master’s in Computer Science with a specialization in Machine Learning at the University of Florida. His work sits at the cutting edge of foundation model infrastructure, focusing on distributed training systems, multi-GPU optimization, and clinical natural language processing. Currently conducting research at the UF College of Medicine on the NVIDIA-powered HiPerGator supercomputer, he designs scalable data pipelines, biomedical LLM architectures, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) frameworks to solve complex healthcare and informatics challenges.

Jatin’s trajectory blends academic rigor with high-impact industry and open-source leadership. An alumnus of VJTI Mumbai, his research journey includes an appointment at IIT Patna’s AI-ML-NLP group, resulting in an accepted paper at ACL 2024 on multimodal clinical document summarization. He spent over two years at ICICI Bank’s Data & Intelligence unit leading platform decisioning integrations, served as an international Mitacs Globalink Research Fellow in Montreal, and participated as an MIT AI Safety Fellow.

A steadfast believer in accessible knowledge and community uplift, Jatin is deeply committed to demystifying elite tech pathways for the next generation. Having served as a Google Summer of Code (GSoC) mentor and an Open Source Promotion Plan fellow, he has guided students through real-world codebase architecture, algorithmic problem-solving, and technical career growth. On Unify the Lit, Jatin supports mentees navigating graduate school applications abroad, machine learning research, open-source programs, and breaking into tier-one AI engineering roles.
