Pawan Kumar

Pawan Kumar is an Executive Engineer at NTPC Limited, with a background in Mechanical Engineering and experience across public-sector energy organizations. He completed his B.Tech. from NIT Sikkim and went on to pursue an M.Tech. at IIT Kanpur.

Pawan’s own journey shaped his desire to mentor others. When he and his elder brother began planning their careers, they had little access to guidance on career choices, competitive examinations, or the processes and documentation involved. With education, determination, and inspiration from the life and work of Babasaheb Ambedkar, they navigated the path largely on their own. Both eventually built careers as engineers in Public Sector Undertakings after clearing GATE.

Having experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to make important career decisions without the right guidance, Pawan wants to ensure that students from his community do not face the same challenge. As a mentor, he hopes to help students understand their options, make informed career choices, prepare for opportunities such as GATE and PSU recruitment, and avoid losing valuable time by choosing a path without adequate information or direction.
